WELCOME to the web page for the Shawnee Mission Baptist Temple Youth Department! We are excited to be part of a growing, thriving New Testament Baptist church! The theme for 2020 at Shawnee Mission Baptist Temple is 20/20 His Vision Our Focus from Proverbs 11:30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.
We are excited about the vision of our church and to see what the Lord has for us in 2020!
At SMBT the young people have many different opportunities to minister in the church. These opportunities range from singing in the choir, to helping in children's church and participating in weekly outreach. Our young people have the opportunity to participate in many exciting youth activities, such as youth camps, youth conferences and rally's. You are invited to come and be part of an exciting youth group that is passionate about seeing others come to know Jesus Christ as their own personal Lord and Saviour and about serving Jesus Christ with their lives.
We desire for our youth department to be a welcoming environment for those seeking refuge and safety from a sinful world. We desire to be a place free from the pressures and temptations of this world. We firmly believe that you don't have to sin to have a good time! Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.
It is our goal that our youth department be a place where teens feel challenged in their walk with God, loved as a child of God, encouraged to stand for God and included in the work of God.
